DeskBridge Client Production V1 release notes
DeskBridge Client Production V1 updates the client downloads for supported desktop and Android platforms and clarifies workspace application guidance.
What changed in Production V1 Release 3
- Curated Linux equivalents are the default answer for common Windows application requests: search, editor, archive tools, PDF, office, browser, terminal, and file manager.
- Wine or Bottles-style compatibility is allowed only for explicitly approved applications with per-app testing, prefixes, install recipes, rollback, and support boundaries.
- The published application catalogue should route user requests to a native Linux equivalent, an approved compatibility package where supportable, or an administrator-managed alternative.
- RemoteApp-style Windows application delivery remains a later controlled service option, not a general Windows workspace promise.
- Admin evidence review must expose transfer and app-request evidence from audit feeds, not only user/workspace-side logs.
- Display quality modes must map to real server encoder quality selection before final release.
Platform downloads
- Windows MSI and EXE downloads are available for Windows PCs.
- macOS DMG and app ZIP downloads are available as universal Intel and Apple silicon packages.
- Android Client and DeskBridge 1 Authenticator 3.4.2-db7 APK downloads are available for supported Android devices. 1 Authenticator adds DeskBridge account pairing, login approval, session review, emergency lock, breach mode and recovery workflow support.
- Linux DEB and RPM downloads are available for supported amd64/x86_64 distributions.
Workspace application boundary
DeskBridge is a managed secure Linux workspace with controlled application availability. Windows client access is supported for local Windows devices, but general Windows workspaces are not part of this release.
Users who need workspace software should use Available Apps or Request App so DeskBridge can provide a supported Linux route, an approved compatibility package, or an administrator-managed alternative.
Evidence and quality controls
DeskBridge admin tools include an evidence view for transfer and app-request events drawn from the audit feed. This gives administrators a single place to filter by user, tenant, event kind, status, and date.
Display modes remain visible to users as Sharp Text, Balanced, Low Bandwidth, Fit to Window, and 100% Pixel. Available behaviour may depend on workspace policy and server capability.
